We use Slivers sellers for stewarding and catering at our events. At the moment I am doing a service review. I’d expect to pay a consultant £9,000 - £10,000 for the work. But we use Slivers for other things and I realized I could quickly get a student with some basic research expertise for odd mornings or afternoons across a project. It’s going to cost me around £1,500 total.
My Community Development Team found out about Slivers-of-Time Working. They’re always looking for new ways of helping people into the workforce. We do events like a traiditonal East End Hop Festival at one of our older persons dwellings. We had Slivers people behind the bar, doing the food and going around with bin bags keeping everything clean. We had a couple of lads doing the same duties at our Christmas party.
We also have a Good Neighbour Festival with lots of bands and stalls for the residents. We had Slivers sellers in Hi-Vis jackets as stewards, they were there to make sure everything went smoothly. Using a Slivers sellers for our research project is a new step. But I’m delighted. The saving will be significant.
