What we say about ourselves
We are an organisation focused on helping our clients achieve their goals better by transforming the way organisations recruit, manage and utilise their people. As a social enterprise though, we would add the words “with a heart”. We think that the best way to help our economy and our quality of life to improve is by helping people to build their week by combining any amounts of work or volunteering from multiple organisations. The more people we can get going up the ramp to their desired activity level will help them, and our businesses, charities and public organisations to pull together to build a strong economy and community.
What others say about Slivers
“It became blindingly obvious when we looked at Slivers that it was a mechanism that would turn something complicated into something easy.”
Tim Anfilogoff, head of community well-being at Hertfordshire Council
“It is a secure marketplace for carers to book care support workers themselves rather than phoning us to organise it – although those who still want to do this can. It means they can self-manage without the stress of employing someone. It’s a simple system; they have a login and can look at which care support workers are available. They choose who they want and a text and email is automatically sent to the care support worker. If they say yes, the booking is instantly confirmed.”
Sheelagh Taylor, chief executive of Crossroads Care Hertfordshire North
“Managers need to book extra staff very precisely in response to shopping patterns that change day-to-day. We know a lot of our employees are looking for additional work in the current climate. We decided a top-down scheduling system or broadcast SMS technology wouldn’t deliver the responsiveness our business needs.”
Arnie Herrema, Tesco’s Programme Manager for Flexibility
‘’SoT [Slivers-of-Time] consistently provides us with flexible, competent and reliable people at a moderate cost.”
Paul Williams, London Borough of Newham
“The system is very flexible. One example was getting a ‘time seller’ in at very short notice to re-format a complex Word tender document.”
Ian Arnold, East Thames Ltd
“Slivers-of-Time sellers were a life saver”.
Lizzie Treip, Friends of Mile End Park
